The head of the National Planning Institute discusses ways of cooperation with officials of the United Nations Development Program.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf El-Araby, President of the Institute of National Planning, received Mr. Alessandro Fracacetti, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Egypt (UNDP) and his accompanying team at the Institute’s headquarters to discuss ways of consolidating cooperation between the Institute and the UNDP.
In this context, Dr. Ashraf Al-Arabi explained that during the meeting, the proposed ways and areas of cooperation between the program and the institute were discussed, which include preparing human development indicators and localizing sustainable development goals at the governorate level, as well as preparing voluntary local reports.
In addition to cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation and the establishment of a joint unit for strategic innovation at the institute. As well as cooperation through the modeling unit and the data analysis and consulting unit at the institute.
Alessandro Fracacetti expressed his happiness in cooperating with a prestigious research institution such as the Institute of National Planning, explaining that in order for sustainable development goals to be achieved, they must be implemented at the local level first.
Fracacetti indicated that the United Nations Development Program adopts and supports many initiatives around the world and looks forward to providing its services to the Institute of National Planning in achieving the goals of sustainable development.
It is worth noting that the cooperation activities between the two sides come within the framework of the activities of the new country program of the United Nations Development Program in Egypt (CPD) 2023-2027, which focuses on four main axes: comprehensive and sustainable economic development, enhancing the ability to adapt to climate change and managing natural resources.
