As part of its leading role in supporting capacity building and enhancing the efficiency of its academic cadres, the Institute of National Planning (INP) organized a specialized workshop for its scientific staff titled: “Public Policies: Methods of Analysis, Presentation, and Policy Paper Writing,” held from March 31 to April 2, 2026, at INP’s headquarters.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Ashraf El-Araby, President of INP, who emphasized that developing analytical and research capacities in the field of public policy constitutes a fundamental pillar for strengthening decision-making efficiency. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing skills in preparing policy papers, in a way that promotes the use of scientific evidence in formulating more effective and impactful policies.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, former Governor of Qena and Assistant Professor of Regional Planning at the Regional Development Center, INP. He presented the latest methodologies and practical applications in the field of public policy analysis, design, and evaluation, with a focus on linking theoretical frameworks to practical implementation.
The workshop aimed to develop the skills of INP’s scientific staff in analyzing, designing, and evaluating public policies using evidence-based methodologies and tools, supported by practical examples and applications. It also sought to equip participants with the skills required to prepare Policy Papers and Policy Briefs in line with international best practices.
As part of strengthening the professional development pathways of INP’s scientific cadres, the workshop featured a dedicated session titled “Strategic Career Advancement,” delivered by Dr. Dina Rabie, Executive & Life Coach, Mentor and Facilitator of Transformational Growth. The session addressed the foundations of strategic career planning, mechanisms for defining professional goals and building effective career paths, as well as developing personal skills and enhancing individual capacities to achieve institutional and research excellence, while supporting the readiness of scientific staff for the evolving demands of the work environment.
The workshop reflects INP’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its role as a leading national think tank, with growing national and regional influence, contributing to evidence-based knowledge production in the field of development and public policy, and supporting decision-makers through rigorous scientific and applied research.
