The National Planning Institute (NPI) has launched a specialized training program titled “Sports Economics” for executive directors of sports federations (Olympic, non-Olympic, and Paralympic). The program, running from June 3 to June 10, 2024, is part of the implementation of the cooperation protocol signed between NPI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, focusing on capacity building, training, and institutional development.
Program Objectives & Significance
Professor Ashraf Salah El-Din, NPI’s Vice President for Training, Consultations, and Community Services, emphasized that the program highlights the growing importance of sports economics as a critical interdisciplinary field. It explores the interdependence between economics and sports, while addressing their shared impact on sustainable development, governance, and investment strategies.
