The workshop presents a presentation of the sixth Global Environment Outlook report (2019) of the United Nations Environment Program issued by the United Nations Environment Program. The Global Environment Outlook reports address the main global environmental assessment approved by the UN General Assembly. The report assesses the state of the environment, environmental trends and prospects, and the policy response framework to address environmental challenges and achieve internationally agreed environmental goals.
This report has been prepared through a multi-year work plan, resulting in a series of publications in preparation for the final report. More than 250 scientists from more than 70 countries, peer reviewers, cooperating institutions and partners have participated in its preparation.
Egypt participated through the Ministry of Environment in the preparation of this report and in cooperation with the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE).
